There is more to Bournemouth than just partying!! (Wait... hear us out). We have created a list of 9 essential (not to be missed) things to do in Bournemouth while you're studying here.
1. Check out Bournemouth Beach
Go to the Beach as much as you can. At the end of every year so many people regret not going as much as they could have, so get everyone together, grab fish and chips and take tonnes of snaps.
2. Visit Durdle Door
As well as the beach, visit other local attractions like Durdle Door or Harry's Rocks. Again, students often forget about and wish they’d done sooner - just prepare yourself for the massive hill. (SUBU organise a trip to the Jurassic coast in the Autumn, find out about all available trips here).
3. Chill Out In Bournemouth Gardens
Bournemouth Gardens is a place not to miss. As soon as the sun hits, the gardens come to life. Listen to live music, eat ice cream, watch out for the squirrels and enjoy the atmosphere.
4. Rent Bikes
Rent and cycle along the beach front. This is great to do in big or small groups. You can check out Sandbanks too if you're willing.

5. Win At Mini Golf
There are so many great mini golf parks to visit in and around Bournemouth. Grab your housemates and head to Bournemouth Gardens, Tower Park, Sandbanks or Christchurch for some really crazy golf. Winner buys the next round at our student bar - Dylans.
6. Splash Down at Splash Down
A little organisation is needed with this, but get a group together and head to Splashdown at Tower Park. The water park is perfect for a day out with your friends. Just not after a ferocious night out.
7. Get Fit At Sport BU
Check out Sport BU. Not only are there teams to join, the gym classes are great as well as they gym itself. Break that mould and get fitter at University. Click here to find out more.
8. LOL at Gigs/Comedy Nights
The Old Fire Station hosts so many fun events. Particularly, gigs and comedy events. Watch out for upcoming gigs and Wednesday comedy nights. They are so fun and definitely something for everyone to enjoy. Check the latest events here.
9. Party At The Student Garden Party and Summer Ball
Two events not to be missed in Bournemouth are The Student Garden Party in September and The Summer Ball in June. Yes - we said there are more things than just partying, but these are too good to miss. See the video here.
